Shonagh Colebrook-Fonseca is a Provincial Practice Lead for Nephrology Dietitians with Alberta Health Services. She also works as a hemodialysis dietitian at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.

Over the past 15 years, Shonagh has had the opportunity to provide coverage in the areas of hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplant.

She has a passion for making nutrition recommendations practical for patients and journeying with patients throughout their continuum of care.

Christine Nash is a Registered Dietitian at the University Health Network’s Toronto GeneralHospital and has been working with patients with chronic kidney disease (Stages 3-5, including dialysis) for over 15 years. She is co-chair for the Canadian Association of Nephrology Dietitians(CAND) and is the provincial renal dietitian lead for the Ontario Renal Network.

She recently completed her Masters in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Toronto, where she studied nutritional status and dialysis modality and their effect on folate status in the era of folic acid fortification.

Elizabeth Zamajski is a Registered Dietitian with almost 20 years of experience. Elizabeth went to Ryerson Polytechnic University, where she graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor in Applied Science in Food and Nutrition. Elizabeth completed her Dietetic Internship at the University Health Network in Toronto. Elizabeth works at Halton Healthcare in Oakville, Ontario.

She provides nutritional care to patients across all areas of the renal journey, including Independent Dialysis, which includes home hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis as well as MCKC and in center dialysis. Elizabeth has been the Co-Chair of the Canadian Association of Nephrology Dietitians for over five years.

Elizabeth has been involved in many projects that support renal dietitians and renal patient population. Quality of patient care and advocating for exemplary patient care is Elizabeth’s main focus in her practice.

Sharon Cruise is a Registered Dietitian with over 25 years of experience. She obtained her Bachelor of Human Ecology from the University of Manitoba and completed her dietetic internship at Health Science Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Sharon has worked in many areas of dietetics over the years including PCH, acute care and community settings in both Manitoba and British Columbia. Sharon has worked since 2011 at St Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, specializing in renal, working in the CKD and PD clinics.

For the past 2 years, Sharon has been the Chair of the Manitoba RD renal network. She enjoys volunteering to support the dietetic community and furthering nutrition practice.

Anneli is a dietitian in hemodialysis at Island Health (Nanaimo, BC). She completed a BSc and MSc in Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph and has experience in primary care with 15 years at the Hamilton Family Health Team before moving to BC and finding her way into the Renal world.  

Four years into this world, she has benefited greatly from the CAND resources and educational opportunities.  She is looking forward to contributing to this member driven organization.
